Book chapters with Impact

Hello and welcome.

This month we are exploring book chapters with impact. Our contributor is Dr?Anita Hussénius of the Centre for Gender Research at Uppsala University in Sweden.??Anita has written a very thoughtful and thought-provoking piece grounded in the narrative of her personal journey through different research cultures, arriving at her current home at the Centre for Gender Research.? This journey, and her experience of writing book chapters collaboratively, has highlighted what a ‘goldmine’ of impact –?in the broadest, richest sense – a book chapter can be, in the context of a well-edited collection.

Please click on the first link to read Anita’s inspiring piece.

We’d like to hear your views on the issues raised and your own experiences and ‘journeys’ in writing book chapters.

Anita Hussénius is Director of the Centre for Gender Research at Uppsala University, Sweden, and Associate Professor in Chemistry at the University of G?vle. In her research Anita applies gender and feminist perspectives on science activities and science education. In an on-going project financed by the Swedish Research Council (2015-2018), she and her colleagues study how science epistemology, content, and practice is reproduced and transformed when biologists, chemists and physicists take part in teacher education.
